sorry no pics, but i just added a few inches to a set for my little engine. i took one set and clamped a piece of 1x1 angle on the lip of the gasket flange and used it as a guide for my cutting disk. i cut the "tops" out of 2 valve covers this way. then a took another 2 valve covers and turned then bottom side up and ground the seam where the top meets the gasket flange. if you look you can see how it's formed out of one piece of steel. doesn't take much grinding before you get a blue line where the metal seperates. with a little help from a hammer you can lift the entire valve cover off the gasket flange. i then took this piece and welded it to the flange with the 1" stub of valve cover. i matched them up and used a grinder to level out the high spot for a closer fit. the metal is about .030 think so it doesn't take much to burn through. i used a small gas torch on one and mig on another. guess if i do any more i'd try tig on it. i like my method way better than trying to splice in a piece of steel. i think it was harder trying to tell how i did it than doing it. good luck

I had no interference with the stock centerbolts and 1.6 rollers. The only thing I had to do was take a pair of vise-grips and crush the oil baffle a little.
