Help!! My Cam has been broke down for 3 weeks
I need some help here...About three weeks ago I took my car in to get detailed. Its a 89 Camaro, EFI, 305,TBI. It was running as good as ever, I picked it up from and about a mile from the detailers shop it won't idle. I took it into a "preformance shop" and the guy says it needs a tune up (no test ran). $240.00 later and 3 more days, he tells me its fixed. No such luck, same thing. I then took it to GM dealer to get test ran, EGR faliure (I replaced that). The same day I replaced the EGR, I start getting "Service Engine Soon" Light. I drove the car for the rest of the day. The next day I get in it and the motor will not turn over but all the gauages work. I have several guys try to look at it, I buy a $23.00 code reader. the codes that come up are: MAT Sensor. (this checks out fine) manifol air temp; BARO baromatric pressure sensor circuit faliure; and the third code; System volt too high(over 17.7 volt to ECM) or EGR system fault or alternator voltage not normal or Vehicle Anti-Theft Saystem Fault. We have tested all the sensors and relays. I have been told that the ECM might have gone into limp mode? Could it be the fuel pump relay, or the fuel pump its self? Someone help please, I am running out of money? Could this datailer ruined the ecm?

Even though i don't know much about the ECM, it sounds like it has been ruined. Won't be a cheap part either.

don't know, but sometimes the ECM itself fails and has to be replaced.
perhaps someone at the detail shop borrowed yours, or swapped for one of your good sensors.
I know a guy that test drove a new camaro just to swap his bad MAF for a new one for free.

Boo,
Reinitialize the ECM. Drive it for about half an hour, then scan for error codes again.
Waiting for your report back with results.

Did the detailer also clean the engine bay? If so, I'll bet a donut that the TPS got wet and is now toast.

Dude Vader: This sucks SOOOOO BAAAD....I had my rod towed home today. Tomorrow morning I will " reinitialize" the ECM. This is how I understand how to preform this mission. Disconnect the both battery cables for 5 minutes reconnect (and with, ALL fingers and toes crossed) the dark grey ghoast will start?

I'm not Vader, but you don't have to disconnect both cables, just the negative (I say negative, because it is the first that should be removed anytime!)
By not turning over, do you mean that it won't even crank, or that it will crank, but not start?

check your fuel pump pressure. The reason you don't hear it prime is because it hasn't relieved pressure by being started. I doubt something got ruined by water because if it was water, you wouldn't have left the parking lot. I used to work in a detail shop... chances are you got something swapped. That's why you learn to do these things yourself because in the world today you can't trust anyone.
