Check for codes. If you don't know how, look at the tech articles. Let us know what code you are getting.

well i checked it out and i dont really understand the tech article

so i wire pin 6 to pin 12
and then turn the ignition to on, without starting my car
a "12" code will appear, which just tells me what??

and then after that code, the problem codes will appear?
so i simply record these and tell you guys, then you fix my probelm???

thanks dooders

Code 12 basically means the ignition is on but the engine is off, because it's detected a lack of vacuum. Every car should display this code.

Code 12 will flash 3 times, followed by any codes stored in the ECM, again 3 times for each, and then it'll revert back to code 12 again and repeat until you remove the jumper.

List any codes after the code 12 and we'll be able to translate them for you.

Far more than just the emission control system will set a light, unless you consider running the engine, shifting the transmission, running the fuel pump, etc. as part of "emission control".

You can also download this sheet and decode the errors you read: GM OBD Error Codes.pdf
