i have an 87 350 that came out of a truck that i'm getting ready to build. i'm probably going to get a master rebuild kit from northern auto parts for an 81-85 350 since its $150(about $250 after upgrades) and the one for a 87 is about $500. it's also a truck block so it has a flat tappet cam and thats what i'l be using. the only difference would be the rear main seal and oil pan gasket right? i'l be using older style heads so the valve cover gasket isn't an issue. is there anything i'm forgetting? i just want to make sure it will work before i spend $250 on something i don't think they would take back.

 

Yeah just the rear main seal and the oil pan gasket will not be the same.
