click, click, click goes the motor

in my new LO5, my engine has a little clicking that accompanies the rpm... it only happens when the engine is in gear, not in park or neutral... ive heard it in other cars, so im not too worried about it, but i dont like my car makin these noises... its not lifters because in my engine equipped with a 5 qt oilpan, i have 5.5 qts in it, my oil gague says 1/8th inch over full.... the sound doesnt get noticable until about 2000rpm and gradually gets louder as RPM increases... but i dont hear it anymore because of my exhaust... WTF IS IT??

You probably have a broken weld on the flexplate or a bolt may have worked its way loose.

is it connected to engine speed? i'd guess exhaust leak or injector tick. after that i'd look at the rockers.

If it only does it when in gear, check the cover on the TC cover. If my cover is just slightly out of place, I get the same sound. Then like the others said, listen for injectors and check the rockers!!

Had a similar clicking when my Chevelle was in gear. Turned out to be a cracked flexplate.
