Fuel Sending Unit??!

Hey, I am having a problem. I just found out that I am going to need a new sending unit. I also found out that they are a dealer only part and cost like $500. Now I just bought a new fuel pump and really don't want to have to buy another so does any one know where I can get one for cheap with out a fuel pump. I am going to school and am kind of low on cash.
Thanks
Jason

Check the local junkyards! Those mechanisms don't go out very often so I'm sure you can pick up a good one at a junkyard!! That would be your cheapest bet!!

If you need a gas tank sending unit check with Jim at thirdgenparts.com. I bought one from him for $75 with S&H and it was purfect. Make sure to tell Jim that Jeff Hadlock sent you. Also, when you replace it go ahead and replace your fuel pump and pick up "net" with a new AC-Delco one. Do not get anything but a Delco one. They run about $65 about Pep-boys, the net is about $10. The gas gauge sending unit on those is rather fragile so be careful when you sre stabbing it into the tank. You never know, yoy may be able to fix your old one. I fixed mine one time before a shop mutilated it by pulling it out too fast. Email me if you want some more info.
