my car started to burn a little oil before i put her away for winter it only did it when i was stoped say a red lite and was stopped for like min or so a puff of smoke would blow out and i got carb rebuilt buddy said i had oil coming up on a sparkplug.It was parked for few months then i drove it make sure she was alright nao she burns it worse when she warms up good driving she just blows the oil smoke bad now hope its not the rings its a 83 Z28 305 auto with 150000 km's on motor what could it be

 

Could be the rings if it does it while driving. If it's more on startup I would suspect valve seals/worn valve guide as the problem. Can you give a little more detailed description of when/how it smokes the most?

 

when i drive around it will smoke a good bit really bad when i give it alot of gas.And say going up hills its bad smokes bad

 

wont i be losing alot of power if its the rings becouse she still got a bit of power and if i do compression test what should it read around 150?

 

could be falty intake gaskets.

 

i had a detonation problem which was never fixed in my car...eventually it started to burn oil bad as you say. im not sure if the rings took a ****, or if i blew a hole in a poston or something....anyway, it ran like crap...but still had about 80-85% of its power...
