Camaro 5.0 vs Mustang 5.0

Which of these engines are better? The Camaro 305cid or the Ford Mustang 302. I hear that the 302 can pump out 220 horses while the 305 hangs back at 190~. What's the truth behind this?

And with the highest brand Camaro of the early nineties vs the highest brand model Mustang, which were better?

Wouldn't that be the 1990 Camaro IROC 350 5.7 vs the 1990 Mustang GT 5.0? Or were there turbo charged/super charged Cobra's at this time?

In short... do Ford motors of equivalent size priduce more horsepower than Chevy? Or is it just that the Mustang is a smaller man's car(lighter)?

While I'm no expert on the topic, I do believe that a say, early 90's ford 302 has a little more hp than a 305 tpi but I do believe that the 305 has more torque. I believe that the stroke of the ford engine has alot to do with the 302's output rather than the bore.

But if you took say a Camaro with a 5.7 wouldn't it downright smash the 5.0 mustang.. or if they were supercharged would the 350 get spanked?

come up with a way to quantify your question and ask it again instead of looking for something subjective and most likely biased.
