Oil on top of intake manifold??
Oil on top of intake manifold??
Check out my mods below. I have been finding oil on top of my intake manifold. Tonight it was a mini puddle.
I have no idea how this could happen. For the supercharger install I had to put breathers on my valve covers and plug my PCV and other hole on valve cover. I don't know if that is of relevance or not.
Any ideas?

Oil usually comes up the intake manifold bolt threads.
The trick is to use liquid teflon sealer on the bolts.

The oil will creep up the bolts even if its never been off.
Are you sure its not leaking somewhere else??

the guy is right its either the manifold bolt or the gaskets arent sealed right. try gasket sealant or teflon tape around the threads of the bolts in question.

Hey I don't know if this is your problem, but my father-in-law has a paxton on his truck. He is a clean freak and he says he cleans his motor once a week because of all the oil that blows all over his engine. That might be where it is coming from. Just a thought

Are you sure it's engine oil? I read some reports of the A/C compressor throwing oil in that area on Vettes.
Is there any sign of oil on the hood directly above where the oil is accumulating?
Just some thoughts.

Well, I'm not sure what the hell it is. The only thing I do know it is not, is fuel.
It just started happening after the injector swap. Maybe oil is getting in through the runner bolts....

You know what. Something occured to me when I saw WARDS post about his oil cap flying off. I have aftermarket valve covers as well along with the "push in" oil cap. I suspect oil may be splashing up from there.... or possibly through my breathers?

If you don't have any baffes under the breathers you will get oil from them, they fill up with oil and leak.

Ya know, dropping a blower on a motor will only make crankcase blow-by vapor problems worse, due to massivly elevated cylinder pressures/temps.
I agree with the leaky-bolt idea but it could also be just a shot intake gasket. Or a vlave cover gasket gone bad. but usually if it's puddling on the intake it's a weepy bolt or a shot intake gasket.
BTW- make sure your PCV valve and hose are working properly. Clogged PCV valves can cause problems similar to this. Doubt it's the problem, but it's easy to check.
