1pc or 2 pc crank??
My car is an '85 with the original LB9.
According to everything I've read, these engines have the 2pc seal. I'll be ordering a rebuild kit for it and I just wanted to double check here before placing my order.
Is the 2pc seal correct?
Were there any 1pc seal engines used during that year?
Thanks

best thing to do would be to get the casting number thats located in back of the drivers side head on the ledge where the bellhousing bolts to the block, make sure it is indeed factory. If it is in fact the origional engine it should be a two piece seal. So you doing a rebuild? I know everyone probably already told you this but have you thought into getting a 350 block maybe a cheap one from a local junk yard and freshining it up and running that? 45 extra cubes make a nice difference. just a thought. Do what makes YOU happy, dont worry about other peoples opinions.

Don't tell anyone, but I'm planning to build a 334 (a stroker 305) It's going to be used as a truck engine. I'm thinking it will be pretty good for that, with all kinds of good usable torque down low and probably better MPG than stock.
I'm taking the 350 roller block out of my truck and that will be going into my car.
Thanks for the reply, I'm sure this engine is original, I've checked all the numbers.
