Hey all, sorry it isn't 3rd gen, but I thought I'd entertain any ideas any of you would have for this situation I have at work.
We just recieved a <1L 4cyl Chinese engine and transmission. We need to put it into a chassis of some sort for testing and calibration. It's an engine for a rear wheel drive tiny van, but we need to put it in a pre-smog car.
Any cool ideas out there? Chevette? Foreign? It's probably gotta be small since it only has about 45hp.
Thanks, and sorry it isn't thirdgen stuff, just thought I'd ask the experts though.

Put it in a camaro and race it agaist an iron duke camaro.
You could build a little stand for it and then run it on the stand. Thered be plenty of room to work on it that way.

Try a '79-'85 Mazda RX-7 . Its small, light, and has the right rear gearing for such a small motor.
Got to ask thou..........WHY????
When you're done you could swap in a nice small block chevy.

It's for work. We're in Kalifornia and can't import this Chinese vehicle that we are working on (fuel injection stuff), and were able to get the engine, and we only have a chassis dyno, and are thinking that the best thing to do overall is to just throw it in a rear drive - pre-smog chassis, so we can also drive it to the mountains for altitude testing, on the streets for calibration durability (learning software and emissions controls) along with tune it on the chassis dyno.
We can't seem to get any exemption status plates or anything, since the product is for China, so we're gonna go around it by throwing it into a Chevette, Nissan 240, Datsun 510, ANYTHING rear drive and pre-75 that is reasonably small, and easy to work on and CHEAP to buy.
Thanks for the suggestions
