Starter ( i think) clicks once after changing plugs and wires NEED HELP PLEASE!
I just changed the plugs and wires in my TBI 305 89 bird and when I turn the key I hear one click, almost sounds like its coming from the cap with the wires on it (hope not, does that even make noise)?
Would the wires out of order cause this?
I dont think they are though, i did them one at a time
Please help
!
it also happens when I turn it off (the switch) i think its coming from the cap thing!
Awful noise, doesnt sound like a starter at all now that i think about it i dont think the starter is ever engaging, just that click/electrical noise from up top
any ideas please!

Does the motor turn over at all or do you just hear that clicking sound. If the motor does not turn over at all I would assume your starter is toast. I would remove it and take it to autozone and have them test if for you.
EDIT:
It could be something as simple as a dead battery if you left your hood up for a long time and didn't dissconnect the under hood lamp.

it only clicks once, all the accecories work
gonna go try a few things, no under hood lamp and the battery gauge is fine so im not gonna try that right away but defenitely will sooner or later!
THanks!
its weird, it was working fine until i changed those last two wires (one which was by the starter, maybe i knocked those wires loose thats what im gonna check)
just the click, no crank

got it figured out
i must have bumped my starter when i was putting on the last plug ( I was underneath the car)
The starter connections were all corroded so i took off the nut that holds all the wires on and put it back on all is good
sorry i was all panicy, its scary when you have to drive and your car wont start! especially when you just spent all your money on the stuff you just put on it!
Thanks for the help!
