how do you check codes on a obd 2 car.

Well actually its a 95 jimmy. wasnt sure if I could do like the Z since its a 95.?

Any input.? Thanks

You need a scan tool for obd2. No paperclip trick.

'95 is an intermediate model, not the same connector as the standard OBD II, although it is an OBD II system. You may need what is called the "GM Special" 16-pin cable for the scantool, so check on that before you buy anything. The OBD II interface on my dad's 95 s-10 is different from the one on my '98 Blazer. Hope this helps.

You can also tell by where the computer is. If the computer is under the hood, its OBDII, if its under the dash, its OBDI.
