What is this thing?
I have been wondering for a while now. That circular thing has a nipple in it and when i press on it i can hear gas pressure coming out.
It is not connected to anything and it is located behind the fuel tank and connected to one of the hoses going to the fuel tank.

There's something missing there. There should be a plastic base on that, that clips into the hole on that bracket just at the side of it. I will look for a photo for you. It won't make any difference to the operation though.
I made one for mine out of ally (show car).

That would be nice to see what is missing. But how do the gasses escape when the only way to release them is by pushing on that nipple??
PS. Aren't our gas caps already vented?? When i fill up my car and when i undo the gas cap there is a lot of gas coming out?

On mine there was a spring and a cover in addition to that. Its the pressure relief valve. The gas cap is also not supposed to vent. The idea being that the charcoal canister catches the more volitile components of the gas as they evaporate rather then let them escape.
