Starting new engine
I recently put a new engine in my car and switched from an 88 MAF to 92 MAP. Besides the obvoius like filling cooling system and setting timing with the brown wire off to get base timing, what else should I be doing or watching for the new start?
I started it already and had to adjust the screw for the TB to get it to idle. I am also going to have to work on the calabration for the fuel and spark when I get back to it. If I adjust the settings with (lets say with the Autoprom- plan on buying soon) Will I still have to set the IAC by putting a jumper in the "A" and "B" in the ALDL?
If anyone has any other suggestions please let me know. I already checked the throttle position sensor for voltage. It was a little high at .61, but I had to adjust the idle screw. I figure after I get the idle down in the chip I can back off on the throttle screw.
Thanks

The procedure for setting the throttle position will not change for the S/D system. However, IIRC, the '92 S/D system is set up for a non-adjustable TPS, so it may not matter where you set it as long as it is below 0.7VDC. The ECM "learns" the TPS position when you power up the ignition.
