Synthetic Oil After Break in...how long to wait?

How long does it take to have the bearings and cam broken in before I can start using synthetic oil?

I dunno, Vettes with the LS1 came off the lots with Mobil 1 in them. I put it in my truck when it only had like 400 miles on it. Three years later, the engine purrs like a kitten. You can't hardly even hear it idle once it's warmed up, just sits there at 500RPM and doesn't vibrate or anything. Now if I could say the same for my IROC.... .

Basically, the first oil change, which should be 500-1000 miles. The factory sends roller motors out with synthetic in them; flat tappet motors however should have dinosaur juice for the first few hours of operation.

The bearings don't really have to break in; it's mostly the cam & lifter contact area that determines this.
