Poly-Locks, not tapped far enough?

I'm having trouble with some poly-locks from DirtTrackThunder.com. I loosen the allen head screw on the inside of the poly lock all the way, and then when I goto set my valve lash, the rocker stud starts hitting the allen screw before the valve lash is properly set. These are poly locks for a stud girdle, so they are taller than normal poly locks. So, I sent that set back and get a second set in (I have to pay for shipping), and I can get about 4 of the 16 to work. So, I change out all my studs for a set of stock-length rocker studs. Now, I can get about 12 of 16 to work. I call DirtTrackThunder.com to get replacements for the set of poly locks and they said they can't help me any more. Anyone got any ideas of what I could do to make these poly locks fit? or any ways that I could be making the mistake? I cleaned the threads of the poly locks with a tap, and it didn't help. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks,

Ryan

Knock the end of the studs off with a grinder.

Sounds like your heads didn't get milled down enough when you got them set up for screw-ins & guide plates.

The heads are Sportsman IIs, and I took the guideplates off because I have self-aligning rockers.

Anyone else got an idea? I'd prefer not to cut the rocker studs...

Had the same thing happen with my Summit stud girdle.
I ended up grinding a few thread off the top of the screw that goes into the poly locks which allow me to back the screw a little more. I actualy use a dremal and a vise at the time.
There was pletty of threads to do this btw.
It seem that when they made the poly's they didn't tap the threads deep enough or something.
