Anyone near their pre-oiling tool and a set of calipers?
If so, I was wondering how thick the bushing is on it. I have a spare 2.8 distributor that I'd rather not grind the gear down on, and I might pick up a pre-oiling tool for that 2.8 I've been working on. Problem is, all the pre-oilers say they're for V8's and 90-degree V6's. The 2.8's a 60-degree V6... but I wonder if nobody ever bothered to see if the pre-oiling tool would fit it. So if I could get a measurement for the thickness of the bushing, I could compare it to the distributor in my basement to see if it'd fit. That way I could pressurize the lifters; otherwise, we'll just spin the oil pump shaft with a drill and I won't bother to buy the tool.
Thanks!

Dammit! I measured the width of the bands on my distributor shaft yesterday, and they're both 1.249 inches. Looks like I can't use a V8 oil pump priming tool...
Oh well. Thanks for the info! You saved me a trip!
Now I'll have to get a junkyard one...
