Heat from underneath the dash
After driving my car awhile or driving after parking I can feel heat coming from under the dash. The heating in turned of I believe, cause I don't feel it idling or anything just while driving. I think heat is coming in from the engine bay. Does anyone know the cause of this uneeded warmth or had this problem before? Summer is coming and I would like to get rid of this extra heat since I don't like heat as it is. Thanx

Could also be the diverter valve under the hood, make sure it's got the vacuum line attached and is working. If it works properly, at least on my 91, there should not be hot water going to the heater core when the temp switch is slid to the cool position.

is the temp slider on heat? cause when the system is turned off the vacuum vent doors default to the floor level. Ram air(when moving) can push threw the system and heat. The diverter valve on newer thirdgens should prevent this. But try moving the slider to cool if its not already there.

I found out my heater/ac switch is bad. If I play with it, it turns off sometimes, but sometimes it stays on. The air under the dash is hot with the slide is on hot and vise versa. So I have to buy one of those. Do you think the heater switches from a 4th gen would fit in there?
