Starter Problem and Question

I only take my car out twice a week for a drive. It usually takes two or three goes to get it started. Lately, it will crank okay the first time then the second time all I hear is a click which I guess is from the solenoid and that's it, it won't turn. If I leave it a few seconds and try again it will turn. This is getting worse, Yesterday it done it three times in a row. I presum that that there is something wrong inside the starter itself. Is there rebuild kits that can be got for these starters?.

Thanks

Easier and not too expensive just to buy a rebuilt starter.

Although I see you are in Ireland...might not be so easy , HUH.

Before you go and spread out the money, check your battery connections and make sure they are tight and clean! Just a little corrosion on the cables going into the connectors and the connectors to the posts can cause a short to ground under current draw while starting. Especialy with universal battery cable connectors. Good luck!
