hello, i just just bought a 1985 camaro iroc-z with a 5 speed, i want to know if the computer have anything to do with the tranny. it dosent look like anything gos to it but i just want to make sure. next question: i have a 305 with a electric Q-jet, i want to put a 350 with a normal carb, will anything go wrong if i get rid of the computer and i get rid of the comp.

You will need at least another distributor. The one you have is also computer controlled, and if you take the computer carb off, that distributor won't work properly. You need to find a vacuum advance HEI from a small block from the '70s or very early '80s.
