ok, so maybe Im a little hard on her. she finally gave out. last night started rapping like flava flav. i guess now is the time for that rebuild i was planning for next year. here's what i have planned, tell me what you think:
383 stroker, bored .030 over, internally balanced, 6" forged i-beam 4340 rods, billet 4340 crank 3.75" stroke, Probe SRS -12.8cc dish pistons, 10.5:1 c/r, clevite P bearings, arp 8740 rod bolts. i already have the top end (see below). any suggestions or comments from yalls in the know? any tips on who has the best price on engine kits?

Billet crank? Thats gonna cost a bundle and is way way overboard for anything that will ever see the street.

what type of budget are your working with? If its unlimited (most of us don't have it quite that good) then overkill is great.

yeah ok so maybe not a billet crank. after pricing them i found a 4340 forged crank that looked like a better bang for the buck and is still rated at 1000hp. yes i am going overboard on the internals because in the future i have plans to go forced induction. yes, i realize i will need to change pistons and/or heads at that point. i just want to never have to worry about this bottom end ever again.

If you are sure you are going forced induction, then build for that from now and save yourself the headaches later.
Or build a decent motor now and build a forced induction motor later. You can always find a car to put the old motor in down the road. Wife may bitch, but it's fun!!
