Gas Tank!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok, I took out my gas tank. Unfortuantley, I was not the one who removed the straps, so I didnt see how they came out. Anyway, the tank was out, I painted it, got new pump etc and now i'm trying to put it back in, but the tank doesnt seem to go in straight, and we pushed and pushed, bent the neck a little and it went kinda straight, but the straps are no where near close to bolting up, wtf am i doing wrong? Anyoen have any pictures?

Try swapping sides with the straps. They have one end that mounts in slots and swings up. The last time I changed a tank, I was laying on my back pushing the tank up with my feet while my brother-in-law was putting the bolts in while listening to me yell "hurry up" along with a few other unprintable words.

Heh, well my tank was emptied
Anyway, I have the straps backwards i know that much, but they both slide into a slot and then bolt up to the body on the other end.

helps having someone reach in the fuel fill door to guide the fill neck as you raise the tank. it's just a matter of getting it to fall into place for the straps to reach around the tank for you to get a bolt in.

It takes some finagaling but eventually it will go in the right way. You will know when its in the right way also. I guess its kind of tough to explain.
