Switched carb and dist. Won't start now....
Hey all,
Der Ubermechanic is at it again..... I went from an electronically controlled
carb and distributor to a Non-cc carb and dist and finally got it all put
back together. I never removed the plug wires so I'm pretty sure the firing
order didn't change. I am also sure that the carb is getting gas because
I forgot to properly tighten the fuel line and it shot gas all over the
engine compartment. There were two wires coming out of the distributor,
an orange and a black one and I connected those to where the orange and
black wire came off of the old distributor. The engine just cranks and
cranks but never fires. Any insight as to what it might be?
TIA,
Chris Payne

stupid question, but did you put the distributor back firing on the same cylinder it was when you pulled it? i'd guess it's out of time.

I faced the rotor the exact same way when I put the distributor back on, however, I had to rotate the body of the dist. about 60 degrees counter clockwise. I checked the firing order as well. I think that my timing is just really off as well. So when I go home tonight, I'm going to play with the timing. Anything else I should be looking at?
