Smog System

My car still has all the smog stuff like EGR, AIR, the smog pump basically the whole system. I want to get rid of the whole system but I wathe smog nt my car to pass test where they stick a tube up your exhaust and figure what your emissions are. Does EGR, AIR affect the emissions of my vehicle? In general, if I got rid of the whole smog system got the proper length belt and welded up the hole in my headers where the EGR was could I pass a visual inspection?

If you remove your smog equipment you wont pass a visual inspection.

92rscamaro,

Yup, if they check under the hood for smog, you're screwed. However, at my e-check (in OH) they don't look under the hood and just do the sniffer test. I left all my smog equipment off and passed the sniffer with flying colors!!! Check out this link for the actual results. https://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/...ML/006868.html
