454

I was flipping through my P.A.W. catalog and found I could get a 454 long block for $2999. It says my choice of pistons up to 13:1 compression and my choice of solid or hydraulic cam. I thought this was an awesom deal and I was curious how much horsepower/torque I could get. I want it to be able to drive on the street and run on pump gas.

500hp/550ft-lbs wouldn't be too hard to do on pump gas if you do it right, but you could probably get a better 454 shortblock from GM for cheaper.

they come from the same factory, go to differant outlets so the shipping is differant for each location. each dealer makes his own price would be my guess.

My guess would be they dont want you to crap your pants.

$5500 through Jegs for a 502 with intake, oil pan, valve covers and ballancer.

Yea I think it'll be cheaper to go through P.A.W. but I noticed to the 427 was the same price. Is there much of a difference between the two?
