STILL have problems
Ok, Im starting to get angry.
From my thread below you can tell I had charging problems.
Turns out I had a dead cell in my battery, I went out and purchased a brand new battery and stick it in there. Start it up and all I have is 12 volts on my voltmeter. So I take off the alternator and have it tested. It tests bad so I buy a brand new alternator.
Put that in and all I have is 12 volts on my voltmeter. I know this is kind of a crude way to see if there is a problem but I have always read at least 13 volts... (yes, this is an aftermarket gauge).
What could it be? I checked the fusible links, they all tested good.
What else could it be, this car is getting ready to see the shop...
TIA!

WHile it is running, tap on the gauge and see if the needle moves. Also, take the car to AutoZone or Advance Auto, most of these places can check the alternator while it is still installed on the car and tell you if it is putting out the proper voltage.
