Help. . Blown Head Gasket?

My car is acting weird on me, I was sitting in the drive thru line at McDonalds and looked down at my temp gauge and it was past 260, who knows how long it had been like that but the reason was because my fan temp switch connector had dry rotted and came loose. Well ever since that happened my car has idled weird almost like one cylinder has no pressure. Its not making any unusual noises. Could this be a head gasket?

Are you still losing coolant? If so, probably (check the oil for contamination too)

It's also possible to blow the gasket between the cylinders leaking pressure only. Before that I would check your ignition system first and perform a compression (leakdown) test.

91S,

Looks like it's time for a compression or cylinder leakdown test. If the compression is good, take a good look at the plugs before you reinstall them. If everything there is O.K., you might want to check the wires and distributor, since everything under the hood must have been about as baked as the hot apple pie you got at the drive-through.
