adjusitng valves

when adjusting valves, how much do you normally tighten them? i was recently told, one full turn, but this seems likealot to me. is it too much?

¼ to ½ turn is plenty.

I zero-lash all 16 with the engine running, then shut it off and add the preload to all 16. Makes the job much quicker and less messy.
