Stupid Question, But I Need To Know??

Before it was getting dark I took off my distributor cap to check if anything was out of whack. Well I was putting it back on and on the back turn screw I dropped a small flathead screwdriver down the back of the motor, where it looks like the transmission hooks in. It was now dark and I couldn't get the screwdriver from up top and I didn't want to bother getting a car jack and trying from the bottom. Could this hurt anything, because I have to go to work tomorrow.

There is nothing it can fall into to cause damage, but it may get stuck between the exhaust and something and melt the plastic handle, or it can fall on the ground and get stuck in a tire. But this is worst case scenario, it will probably just fall out and you never see it again.

the screwdriver shouldn't hurt anything as long as you don't end up running over it and stabbing a tire.
the important thing is that the dist cap is back on secured the right way.

whoa, wait a minute. i once dropped a screwdriver in the same manner. there was a bolt missing on my tranny dust cover, well the screwdriver just happened to get itself in there and when i started it up the next day WHAM! right thru the floorboard narrowly missing my spleen.
