man i just knocked on my valve covers and they sounded and felt like plastic, whats up with that?

i was knocking them with my knuckles i was tapping on them cause for some reason they looked plastic. Its weird would they put plastic on the engine stock??

 

They have (3800's for instance), but yours weren't.

 

so they arn't plastic, so what are they. I was sorta wondering if i could polish them if they were aluminum.

yea... thats how i sorted out between my kickass alum covers and the cheap plastic look alikes.

 

lol dude, sometimes it's hard to tell the differance between steel, plastic, and aluminum

 

thats actually a good idea i got magnets that when put together then will crush your fingers and their bones. They are nick named "crusher magnets." My old teacher had some, and he told us that anme soon as i found some i had to have them.

That magnet isn't needed though. I've gots of them.
