Well not much more, my cousin changed the lock cylinder in the Caprice I just bought. (She's 17 and knows NOTHING about cars or tools, but she actually pulled it off.. go figure..)
Since then, the wipers haven't worked, I checked the switch, looks ok, not broke or anything, smooth operation etc..
Fuse is good.
Can't find the relay.
The motor clicks when you try to turn the wipers on. To be sure, I hooked the 79's wiper motor up, same thing, just clicks.
The Cruise control unit also clicks when I turn the wipers on, buut not every time, this kinda leads me to belive it isn't the switch.
I did a quick search here, found one post saying that sometimes the wiper switch just craps out for no reason, which I find highly unlikely.
Now, would a bad relay allow the clicking at the motor?
I'd like to find out so I can put the steering wheel back on, lol..
BTW, here's some pics of the Caprice

Well, I dont have any suggestions About your wipers, Other than that the Relay shouldnt allow the Motor To Click.

I've checked the wiring diagram, (for an 81 Camaro, but it's the same..)
I can't find a relay, and I've even tried jumping the wires on the switch itself, all I get are clicks.
I've looked everywhere for bad grounds, found none, I've checked all my fuses, all good..
This one is blowing my mind.

Mac,
How the 773H are you? First, don't flame up your cousin too much - lock cylinder replacement isn't exactly rocket science (but then, neither is rocket science any more).
Check the connector at teh left side of the column. The switch should plug in behind the little plastic bowl extension on the left side. The switch makes one circuit to park the wipers, and opens that circuit while closing another to operate the wipers. (You should be able to see this on the factory schematics, since they show the switch contact logic table.)
Make sure the "parking" circuit is opening, or else the motor may be trying to run and park at the same time.
Just a thought.

since it belonged to your cousin why not ask her if it worked before she made repairs? if it did then i'd guess she has a wire cut or something inside the column. other than a bad wire about all you can do is start poking wires with a test light and see what you have. i hate eletric problems about as much as i do working on fieros.
