Overheating problem fixed.......

I took my car in and had it looked at, there gonna replace the intake manifold gasket cause it was leaking, my thermostat was shot so im gonna get a new one. Nothing was wrong with my radiator. My serpentine belt was cracked so thats being replaced with a Gator Belt and there changing my oil. Thanks for your help and suggestions.

Read recently that cracks in the belt are normal and no cause for concern or replacement. I believe it was in the GM Service manual.

I'd always thought that they were bad, like in using non serpentine belts with crack, but GM says don't bother yourself about it.

I did the same as you, bought a new belt, then some months later came across the info.
