ZZ3 intake on L69
The intake manifold on my '84 L69 is cracked and needs to be replaced. I've done a search and can't find much info on this manifold. Has anybody installed a ZZ3 intake on their 305? Good results?

Um... the ZZ4 intake will not work on a 305ci because the ZZ4 intake has the vortec style runners to match up with the heads. Vortec head has LT1 style runners and the 305 heads dont.

ZZ4 does not have Vortec heads, it has Aluminum L98 heads from a Corvette. The intake will work fine and give you a little boost in power.

It sets the carb up about a half inch higher than the LG4/L69 intake. Makes the PCV tube from the valve cover to the air cleaner a stretch, and the air cleaner stud had better not stick too high above the lid (shouldn't be a problem if it's stock).

Seems to fit my 305 and its 69 model 186 heads just fine. Direct bolt-up. Fits perfect along with the stock carb and HO air cleaner.

Five7kid, that A/C "V" belt looks awful close to that rad. hose. I have a bracket to hold the hose up and away from that belt. See pic.

The hose is for the '86 application. The AC bracket holds it away from the moving parts. There's about an inch there. It's never been touched.

Sitting Bull, my orignal eng. was a L69 and came with the duel snorkel A/C, but I changed my carb to a 750 cfm and the eng. to a 355 so I sold the A/C to some guy in Wis. fo $100. A buddy of mine had a friend that worked in a tin shop. We started with a dropbase open element A/C and he made the housing out of alum. The element is a K&N 14" x 3" and I used the orignal inlets that came with the car. I had to use the dropbase for hood clearance.
