motor mount nuts,,,,,,how were yours?

So I did a lot of searching about motor mounts and found out what a pain it is. I peeked under today and saw the nuts in the crossmember but they looked quite rusty. Just wondering if they will even come off, nevermind the awkward position.

Just wondering how bad everyone elses looked. where they pretty gross looking to but the nuts still came off??? The last thing I want to do is snap one in there

Snapping them would be no big deal, the bolt will just come out if you snap it. I've done it on two camaros and didn't have trouble. I forget if they were rusty though, i think they were covered in grease actually.

yes highly recommend you replace them with some grade-8 material. personally I used grade-10. Small price to pay for what holds your motor up.

I found them to be easy to get to by using a 15 mm box wrench bent at a 90 degree angle inside the crossmember

So they aren't threaded through those holes in addition to the nut holding them on (they will just pop out?)? Just curious cuz the holes nearby for other mounting locations looked small.

Yep, no threads on the engine crossmember for the motor mounts. Bolts slip in.

I love when bolts like that sheer apart... Its those rusty sway bar link bolts that won't give up (and others like them) that are a real pain..
