Right Cam for my car
Right Cam for my car
Hey Guys, Stupid User time....
I've been throwing around the idea of replacing my cam, so I need some basic info...
My Car is a 92 RS, so it has the 305 TBI setup, single cat, so on...
What cam is in my car now? What would be a good replacement cam for my car? I havent done any mods as of now, but i plan some in the future. Should I wait until I do the other mods first? In fact, when should you upgrade the cam?
I have no real knowledge about this sort of thing, and need some advice.
Thanks,
Chris

TBI cars cannot run a whole lot of cam without running into computer problems. I would suggest this comp grind, or something similar... 210/220 duration at .50 with .500/.510 lift, this is a hydraulic roller grind, and you will need better valve springs. Crane makes some that will handle up to .600 lift and have the right pressure for around $90. good luck

one nice choice would be slp51002, but deffinitly not over a .500 lift cam. preferrably less than 220@.050 duration. you should be able to reuse the lifters, but will want to replace the timing chain. chip will also be a good thing to replace at this point.
