L98 or B2L?????????????????????

L98 or B2L?????????????????????

How could I tell if my engine in my camaro is an L98 model or a B2L?

Does anyone know the casting numbers?????

The L98 engines and the B2L engines are the exact same thing. They just assigned two RPO codes for some reason.

B2L is the 5.7L option package, L98 is the engine it's self.....according to my RPO definitions anyway.

L98 is the 5.7, while B2L denotes the iron head version. Vettes don't have B2L because they have aluminum heads.

My car is an 87 iroc.... Did the camaro's come with aluminum heads that year? Or was it strictly for the vettes?

no aluminum heads on camaro L98. the correct answer is the B2L being the package and L98 being the engine. B2L included much more than just an engine. so 92GTA was right.

I stand corrected. According to my GM Shop Manual RPO B2L is described as "Engine Package - V8 5.7L, PFI".

The fact is you couldn't get the L98 without B2L or vice versa.
