When I called a dealership they asked about the thread size, and said they wouldn't have one for my vehicle.

Every drain plug ive seen on a sbc is the same. Besides the website even says it fits all V8's so why wouldnt it fit yours.

You are correct about the 1/2-20 thread size. I just got one from Napa, and confirimed the thread size at a dealership.

I just installed it today. The one odd part was that the gasket kind of shread a bit. It's not leaking though. Is this supposed to happen?

That's it. The only problem is the gasket shread too eaisly. If it starts to leak, I'm going to use a copper washer instead.

Just pick up a copper gasket, and you'll be good to go.
