Gas Gauge Freezes

Occasionally, my gas gauge will freeze and I'm wondering if maybe the grounds need to be cleaned at the tank at behind the dashboard. If so, where is the ground at the tank located?

It grounds to the floor pan under the carpet near the front of the drivers seat.

Hey thegeneral,

That is true but I don't think that is an option he wants to hear. It could also be a bad gauge in the cluster or bad connectors on the gauge. Try this chart.

OR, perhaps you're just to easy on the gaspedal...

Say trickster, since you seem to know so much about electrics for our cars, do you know where I could get a tempswitch connector, possibly with a bit wire on it?

Are you talking about the connector for the Coolant temp sender for the gauges?

The connector for this one. Have been through a couple of sites already, ac delco, even my dealer. It wont do with a universal connector either. My old one just cracked to pieces.

Okay,

They have been discontinued by GM as has most of the wiring harness and connectors. I can still find them in junkyards around here, unfortunately that is not a viable solution for you in Norway. You could try calling or e-mailing Hawkes at thirdgenparts.com and see if they can fix you up.
