Front gallery plugs
Hi to everybody,
I have a problem with the size of the front gallery plugs I have to change. My engine is a 350 ( casting 10054727 ) and I ordered a complete engine plug kit ( Dorman 557-001 ). There are two different sets of front gallery plugs, one too small ( can be inserted with my little finger ) and one too big ( much too big !!! ).
The description from the Dorman-Kit says : "Chevy & GM, 8 Cyl. 262,267,283,302,305,307,327,350L, 4.4 Engs." Is this the wrong kit for my car ?
Thanks,
Uwe

No, that should be the right thing.
However, people drill the block and use different plugs there all the time. A favorite mod is to drill and tap the block for threaded pipe plugs. Something like that may have happened to yours at some point in its life.
