Front gallery plugs

Hi to everybody,
I have a problem with the size of the front gallery plugs I have to change. My engine is a 350 ( casting 10054727 ) and I ordered a complete engine plug kit ( Dorman 557-001 ). There are two different sets of front gallery plugs, one too small ( can be inserted with my little finger ) and one too big ( much too big !!! ).
The description from the Dorman-Kit says : "Chevy & GM, 8 Cyl. 262,267,283,302,305,307,327,350L, 4.4 Engs." Is this the wrong kit for my car ?
Thanks,
Uwe

No, that should be the right thing.

However, people drill the block and use different plugs there all the time. A favorite mod is to drill and tap the block for threaded pipe plugs. Something like that may have happened to yours at some point in its life.

sure doesn't sound like the wrong kit. if it were me i'd tap it for a pipe plug and use a allen socket head pipe plug. not sure if you can find plugs or the tap where you are.

Hmm, sh**, itīs too late now for tapping the holes, cause I have the new cambearings installed already ( and I absolutely donīt want some metall pieces inside again ) - Thanks for your quick answer, guys.
