Has anyone ever put a tranny on an engine stand? Will it hold?
My friend and I were wondering if his engine stand would hold his C4 tranny. We know it will hold the weight, but will the bellhousing break? Its the type of stand that has 4 bolts that go into the tranny mount holes on the engine. I was thinking we could put bolts through the bellhousing holes and put nuts on the ends.

I have done it, it works fine. Use 4 bolts and it will be stable and secure.

i do it all the time, or at least on occasion. i've bolted trans up through the regular bolt holes that go to the engine and to the pan surface on the bottom.
