Okay, get this. I replaced the oil press. sender yesterday(wednesday). Today, the car took a full 5 SECONDS to start. Normally it starts in about 2 in the morning. Then, after I take off, I notice the car is running about half the power it normally does, and now it surges at idle. Later today, the check engine light came on, and BOTH my MAT sensor and knock sensor lit up. When idleing(sp?) i can here a short little "errrrr" right before it surges. I had added some fuel injector cleaner about 10:00pm last night on a full tank. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!?!?!? Is all just coincedence(sp? again) or may it all be related to one item? I'm desperate for your info. I'm 18, just got out on my own, and don't need the love of my life dying. PLEASE!! Bye the way, it's an 88 frmla with a 305 TBI and 75,000 miles.

I opened my garage and hop into my Mustang, start the engine and imagine cruising down the road. . . . then I wake up in a cold sweat.

 

The FI cleaner won't have anything to do with anything except maybe the surging if you added the can after filling up and not before. Most likely it's coincidence or it could be the voltage regulation is screwed and killing off your sensors.
