oil pressure gage sending unit leak fix

I think the oil is leaking at my oil pressure sending unit back by the distributor. It is not bad. Should I use teflon tape? Any ideas.

thanks,
phil

Ah, "oil pressure gage sending unit".

If it's leaking past the threads and there's no damage, yes, Teflon tape can help.

Often, the pipe is cracked, causing the leak. Check it carefully when you have it off.

Took off the sending unit and the brass pipe that attaches it to the block. Luckily their were know cracks in the pipe. Cleaned them both up and put teflon tape on the threads of the pipe and the sending unit. reinstalled and that seems to have fixed my leak. No leaks! I hate leaks.
