comp. Magnum cams??????????

heres the deal, i have a post 87 roller block and a freind of mine just gave me a comp magnum cams 280h cam and a set of flat tappets for free still in the box. But the problem is can i put non roller lifters in a block machined for roller? and if i can would that 280h cam be to big to use with the stock valve springs?

Spit,

1. Yes. (But you'll need longer push rods);

2. Yes. (You'll need much better valve springs, and probably head machining to accomodate the springs. I wouls also recommend changing to screwed rocker studs if you haven't already done so.)

You will need an appropriate timing chain as well, and lose the retainer plate that holds the cam in.
