Retro-roller link bar issue

Upon careful inspection, i have noticed that 1 linkbar seems a tad longer than the others. I dummied it up in the block i have layng around, and the shorter ones are the ones that fit.

I was thinking about taking the Dremel and some carbides and just 're-shape' both ends of the linkbar so it fits. Id finish it up with a sand roll or something. Any other ideas? Sending for another linkbar will be the last resort. I'm open to any and all ideas.

Looks like the wrong link bar, like for some other engine.

Seeing as how those are used, somebody probably got something mixed up somewhere along the line.

I'd contact the lifter mfr and see what they have to say. Obviously the bars are easy to replace, so it's no big deal or anything. They all sell replacement bars for their lifters, real cheap. I wouldn't try to re-engineer it if it was mine.

i agree...

i would NOT modify the bar.... just call them up, tell them what you found, and see if you can get them to just mail you the correct bar...
