something leaking in side car ??

I think I might have a heater core that is leaking. Anyone change one out? Do you have to take the hole dash apart? This morning when I got into work the passanger floor mat and carpet were all wet and smelled like antifreze. Is there any other hose in there that might leak. Please tell how pist a going to get upon try to replace it.

yes the heater core flew south. the next step is to take apart the entire dash to get to the core then undo the hoses at the fire wall under the hood and then inside you have to take a plastic cover off the core itslef and then your looking right at the annoying piece just take it out ...and remember!...instalation is the reverse of teardown!

dont jump the gun! couple months ago i thought my heater core blew, so i commenced to tearing the dash apart. what a mistake. the hose clamp had loosened up on one of the hoses at the firewall. once the engine warmed up coolant system pressure built up and it sprayed into the car. man i was pi$$ed off. its a lot of work getting that heater core out.

You don't have to take the whole dash apart, just the underside (hush panel, and ducting) Then w/ nimble hands you can pull the old one out and put the new ones in. I have large hands, and large forearms and managed this...although I didn't put the ducting back exactly as it should have been since the previous dumb@$$ cracked alot of it...eventually when I have $$$ I'll go back and fix it properly

I really think it is the heater core. I was leaking a very small amount about a year and a half ago and I put Stop Leak in and it worked. Does anyone now how much a new one costs?

I don't remember clearly, but I think it was $20-$30. It's just a tiny radiator, cant be much.
