Thoughts about Evans NPG coolant?
It goes for about $100/5gal which is about what I'd need. My biggest concern is if I have a slow leak or blow a hose out one afternoon. It says not for use with water, but I have the feeling that is because it also says to use a 0-4psi cap with it. Water expands... blows the cap! I assume if you were to put a few qts of water in there to get you down the road, it wouldn't be a problem if I keep my 17psi cap.
Any thoughts? I'd hate to buy a 6th gallon @ $25 just to have it sit in the garage forever!

the whole system is designed to run low pressure to minimize the loss when you do have a leak. It does not mix with water so it needs to be used 100 percent. The consistency of the fluid causes it to maintain better contact with the water jackets and extract heat. But if you have that kind of cooling trouble, i would look in other areas first.

Oh, I have the feeling the Griffin radiator I am installing now will cure any cooling problems I have had in the past. I am just looking at the Evans fluid as an enhancement to the whole system.
I can imagine that it coats the cylinder head chamber so much better then water can, and just makes a better heat sink.
Of course, the $100 could also go towards that fiberglass cowl hood too...
