Possible to run a temp readout from the IAT sensor?
I wanna keep tabs on my air intake temp. I have no ECM or anything, so a scanner won't do it. Is there a reasonably simple way to do this other than just connecting an ohmmeter and trying to figure out what temp it corrisponds to?? How high a temp is the sensor good till (it'll be a boosted application)?

Jester,
Buy a new car with an outdoor air temperature display, compass, fuel calculator and all that junk. The "thermometer" uses the intake air temperature input as it's signal source.
You could do it with a DA converter and digital display driver, or connect an analog meter to the ignition source and calibrate the meter for the IAT voltage:

Jegs sells an ultragage air temp guage 280-A024E061N
You will need the sender also 280-SENSS7E
It's red digital readout/black bezel 2 1/16" diameter and reads between -25F to 150F
If you think you will reach over 150F Summit sells Intellitronix "car stereo amplifier temp guage" that i'm sure will be easily adapted by finding a suitable location for the sender. (Possibly drilling or tapping a hole in the bottom of the plenum)
Good luck with your mission if you choose to accept (this message hopefully will self destruct in 5 seconds)
