car is acting very strange
here is one for you....a customer brought in a 2000 Z/28 camaro 350 5.7 liter into the shop...computer was going crazy giving serveral INCORRECT codes...customer removed his normal thermosta and replaced it with a 165 degree one...the computer in the car is used to one that is normally about 195-197 degrees, when the customer replaced to a cooler thermostat they did nothing with the computer chip...i am gussing we need to upgrade the computer chip to a Hyper tech tempature chip..or replace thermostat with normal one..customer comes to pick up car on wed july 14th what do you think is best course of action?

What kind of incorrect codes? The power gain from a lower thermo is almost negligible, so you might as well just replace it with a normal thermo.

As long as it's only an act, what's the problem?
A '00 346 V-8 likely uses an OBD-II PCM. You should be able to scan the real time data and discover the solution to the "erroneous" codes.
And good luck in finding a "chip" for that PCM.
