Any tips for manifold install?

Just got an Edelbrock Performer intake, P/N 3701, was just wandering what modifications, tricks are necessary when installing the manifold in place of the stock one.

If you use the stock water neck, there is a post I had to grind down on the intake. Oh, don't use a screw driver to lift the old intake off. Sometimes the tip breaks off, drops into number one cylinder, trashes the rings as it gets between the piston and cylinder wall. Then it physically stick in the top of the piston. Then the engine gets a really loud knock, then you have to spring $3K for a ZZ4 crate motor. :0

Some people use those little cork gaskets that come in the set... others use a 1/2 tube of the red gasket maker I go around the water ports too with a lite coat. Make sure you mark which way your rotor is pointing too.

I don't know how much there is in the way of vacuum lines on a carbeurated engine, but mark all of those so you can get 'em connected where they go. If you forget to connect one, your car will run like poo.
